Utah Jazz Guard Ricky Rubio Sat Court-Side at BYU Basketball Game
First-year Jazzman checked out BYU vs. Pacific.
One night after hitting game-winner against the Raptors, Rubio took in some BYU hoops
The month of January is usually a grind in college basketball, especially life in the West Coast Conference. But Saturday night’s victory for BYU was an entertaining one for a couple of reasons.
BYU’s star players in Elijah Bryant and Yoeli Childs combined for 54 points as the Cougars rolled through Pacific in the second half to avenge an earlier loss against the Tigers with an 80-65 win.
Eli and Yoeli weren’t the only stars on display at the Marriott Center on Saturday night.
Utah Jazz guard Ricky Rubio was sitting courtside watching the game.
Rubio checked out BYU hoops one night after draining a game-winner for the Jazz over the Toronto Raptors up north in Canada.
Jazz teammate Joe Ingles chimed in on Rubio’s seats in Provo.
Apparently, Jinglin’ Joe had an invite as well but he didn’t accept.
Rubio is the third Jazzman to attend a BYU basketball game this year. Rookie sensation Donovan Mitchell and Royce O’Neale.
Last season, former Jazzman and current Sacramento King attended a BYU game to support Eric Mika and then two years ago Dante Exum and Joe Ingles visited for the BYU-Saint Mary’s game.
