Cal Transfer RB Tre Watson To Visit BYU
Former Golden Bears running back plans to take a trip to BYU
Watson has rushed for 1,390 in his collegiate career
Signing Day is officially over for BYU, but recruiting never sleeps. BYU could be in the mix for graduate transfer running back Tre Watson from Cal-Berkley.
Watson has been granted an opportunity by Cal to transfer to any school in the country.
BYU has been in talks with Watson for a few weeks now and he said on his personal Twitter on Wednesday that he currently only has plans to visit BYU.
This would be a huge boost for BYU. BYU needs another playmaker at running back and it gives them the flexibility to possibly move Austin Kafentzis to safety and Kavika Fonua -if healthy- back to linebacker.
A lot of options are in play, but if BYU can land Tre Watson, Dylan Collie from Hawaii, they suddenly have some playmakers to work within Jeff Grimes’ first year as offensive coordinator.
Watson only played in two games a season ago for Cal. Oddly enough, his last game with the Bears came against in-state FCS program Weber State, a program that provided BYU two new assistant coaches.
