West Coast Conference is now 8-1 in 2018 Men’s Basketball Postseason Play
Teams in the WCC are performing in the postseason.
BYU is the only team that has lost so far from the WCC
With Gonzaga possibly moving to the Mountain West Conference next season, the West Coast Conference is trying their best to show the Zags that they are stepping up their game and are going to be better.
Who knows if tournament runs in the NIT, CBI, and CIT, will do anything to sway the Zags who are ultimately going to do what they feel is best for their unique basketball brand. But it’s still impressive to see how many West Coast Conference teams are still playing games heading into March 20th.
The WCC is currently 8-1 in postseason play, with the lone loss coming from BYU in the First Round of the NIT at Stanford.
Gonzaga is headed to their fourth consecutive Sweet 16 appearance, Saint Mary’s defeated Washington on Monday night to move to 30-5 on the season, USF crushed Utah Valley on the Hilltop to earn back-to-back 20-win seasons and San Diego remains unbeaten in the CIT that is somehow celebrating its 10th year of existence.
8-1 for a mid-major basketball league. Not bad. If only BYU could’ve held their end of the deal, the WCC would be one of the last conferences remaining with five teams still playing.
