Since 1999, the Cougars Men’s Volleyball program has been a fixture in the NCAA Tournament.

On Sunday, BYU men’s volleyball secured the No. 2 overall seed in the 2018 NCAA Tournament. The number two seed secures that BYU is in the semifinals of the tournament.

2018 marks the first time in program history that BYU is in the NCAA Tournament for the third consecutive season.  The past two seasons, BYU has ended as the National Runner-Up, falling in the National Championship match in each season.

Since BYU joined the NCAA ranks in 1990, the Cougars have become a national powerhouse in Men’s Volleyball winning three national championships.

Here is the history of BYU’s trips to the NCAA Tournament over the years.

2018

Semifinals: Will face UCLA or Harvard on Thursday, May 3rd at 8:30 pm (MDT).

2017

National Championship: Ohio State, Loss 0-3 in Columbus

Semifinals: Long Beach State, Win 3-0

Play-In Match: Barton, Win 3-0

2016

National Championship: Ohio State, Loss 0-3 at University Park, PA

Semifinals: Long Beach State, Win 3-1

2014

Semifinals: Stanford, Loss 2-3 in Chicago

2013

National Championship: UC Irvine, Loss 0-3 in Los Angeles

Semifinals: Penn State, Win 3-0

2004

National Championship: Long Beach State, Win 3-2 at Long Beach

Semifinals: Lewis, Win 3-0 at Romeoville, Illinois

2003

National Championship: Lewis, Loss 2-3 at Romeoville, Illinois

Semifinals: Penn State, Win 3-1 at University Park, PA

2001

National Championship: UCLA, Win 3-0 at Los Angeles

1999
