BYU RB Coach AJ Steward Balled Up Some Kids On The Basketball Court
It has to be that Rock Chalk Jayhawk in Steward.
There’s More 2 Life than ball…
The BYU football program is currently in Harlem, New York for their annual trip with the More 2 Life Foundation that is ran by Kalani Sitake.
The More 2 Life Foundation gives opportunities to disadvantaged youth by engaging them in life mentoring, educational and athletic opportunities as well.
One of those athletic opportunities for the young middle school-aged kids from the Harlem Jets was to get crossed up BYU running backs coach AJ Steward.
Steward has grown a reputation among the BYU football staff for the hoopster in the group and he showed those skills out in Harlem on Thursday.
I’m convinced that everyone from Kansas University can hoop it up. Must be a real chalk that’s in the air at Allen Fieldhouse that gives all these athletes at KU the ability to ball.
It’s one thing to see a middle school kid get crossed up. I now need to videos of Steward going up against Jeff Grimes or even Kalani Sitake. That’s the battles we need to see on the hardwood. I’d pay good money to see pickup basketball between the football coaches.
If I had to rank the best basketball players on the BYU Football staff, here’s how my big board/starting five would look.
- AJ Steward, Running Backs
- Preston Hadley, Safeties
- Aaron Roderick, Passing Game Coordinator
- Ryan Pugh, Offensive Line
- Kalani Sitake, Head Coach
