BYU Quarterback Commit Jacob Conover Named An Elite 11 Finalist
Conover is ‘100-percent’ committed to BYU
Four-star QB in the class of 2019 from Arizona
Four-star 2019 quarterback prospect out of Chandler, Arizona, Jacob Conover, committed to BYU this past Sunday and it was a huge boost for a 2019 class that was lacking much sizzle as of late.
The sizzle continued with the Conover commitment as he was named an Elite 11 finalist on Thursday.
Conover said earlier in the week on ESPN 960 AM that he is “100-percent” committed to BYU and that he is all in. Programs like Stanford are not on his mind anymore according to Conover from the interview on ESPN 960.
Conover plans on serving an LDS mission after graduating from high school this December. Conover’s first season at BYU will be in 2021.
A total of 24 quarterbacks will be named to the Elite 11 finalists and they will compete June 1st-3rd in California to determine the Elite 11 and who the MVP will be from the group.
BYU has signed two Elite 11 quarterbacks since 2010 in Jake Heaps (Elite 11 MVP) and Tanner Mangum (2012 Co-MVP). Conover would be the third Elite 11 QB in 10 years to play for the Cougars.
