BYU Football Over/Under For 2018 Season Is Set At 5.5
Do you feel confident that BYU gets to a bowl game in 2018?

We have our annual Over/Unders for the 2018 College Football season courtesy of the South Point Hotel in Las Vegas.
BYU’s Over/Under for the 2018 season is at 5.5. Does this mean anything? It’s a baseline of what pre-season expectations are at for a program. Remember last year, BYU’s over/under was at 10. So obviously, a lot can change on these futures bets.
But 5.5 is fair for BYU right now. A lot of quality Power Five programs are on the schedule in 2018 and there aren’t as many “gimme” games as in years past.
Right now, I’d say BYU gets slightly over the 5.5. I feel pretty confident that BYU has done enough to be two games better than what they were a season ago. But the perception hit that BYU took going 4-9 is definitely showing entering the 2018 season.
The Over/Unders for BYU’s opponents on 2018 schedule:
- Arizona: 7.5
- Cal: 5.5
- Wisconsin: 10
- Washington: 10.5
- Utah State: 7.5
- Hawaii: 3.5
- Northern Illinois: 7
- Boise State: 10
- UMass: 5
- New Mexico State: 6
- Utah: 7
Only nine teams on South Point’s Over/Under list were projected at 10 wins and above. One-third of those teams are on BYU’s 2018 schedule.
Very interesting to see Utah State projected at 7.5. My initial reaction would be to say the under on the Aggies. Also, Cal at 5.5 is fair. The hype on the Golden Bears being a landslide favorite from the likes of ESPN FPI have been exaggerated. BYU and Cal on September 8th in Provo will be a toss-up game.
