BYU Moving Up In FPI Rankings; Hopes to Reach Top 15

This weeks Football Power Index rankings are in with Brigham Young University sitting at a 2-1 record. The Cougars sit at No. 60, moving up from No. 73 last week. After the win over the University of Wisconsin, ESPN has BYU projected to win 7.3 games. That’s up 1.5 from the last game, and 3.3 up from the start of the season.

Some of the more inconceivable news among the fans is that they are still underdogs at in-state foe Utah State University at home. Utah State is coming into its fourth game BYU is also underdogs and a small percentage of winning for University of Washington (6.3%), Boise State(14.4%), and University of Utah(23.9%). Although, the Cougars are projected to beat the remaining half of their games. And as BYU scratches its way to the top the numbers will continue to rise, or fall. If BYU continues to beat Power 5 opponents, with Washington coming up next week, will we see BYU as high as in the top 15?

Only time will tell, but nonetheless BYU is still underdogs to Washington. The last time BYU played Washington was in 2013 for the Fight Hunger Bowl and lost 31-16.
