3-1 Cougars Ride Past Cowboys

The 3-1 Cougars are out to claim the “W” as they defeat McNeese 30-3.

Quarterback Tanner Mangum went 15 for 25 with 118 yards in the Cougar Victory.  But, they didn’t look like the No. 25 team in the beginning. The Cougars were down 3 in the first quarter with turnovers and a couple penalties to start the night.

BYU bounced back with two touchdowns in the second quarter to regain the lead, and some faith. McNeese never saw the end zone again.

Zachary Katoa led the offence with a pair of touchdowns, followed by wide receiver Talon Shumway with his first touchdown reception of the season.

Tanner Jacobson and Rhett Sandlin both had big interceptions in the game.

Defensive Back, Michael Shelton led the night with six solo tackles. Both Austin Lee and Corbin Kaufusi followed Sheltons night with 4 solo tackles.

Back-up QB, Zach Wilson also showed some time on the field tonight in the fourth quarter. Wilson passed for 12 yards in one of his two attempts.
