There is potential for this BYU team to slay the Washington dragon this week. There’s also a big chance they’ll lose. The Cougars will arrive in Washington as a 17 point underdog, and theres a chance they can win. Here is five reasons why.
5. BYU’s Defense
Most of BYU’s potential NFL talent stems from the defense. They are play makers on that side of the ball, and other teams can see it. They have big guys, like Corbin Kaufusi and Zayne Anderson.
Anderson is ranked No. 30 in solo tackles with 17. Along with Zayne, take a look at some of the big plays Sione Takitaki has made. He makes the difference.
Takitaki had eight solo tackles out of his 13 total, with two tackles for loss and a sack during the Wisconsin game. The Badgers, who arguably have one of the best offensive lines in the country, couldn’t quite keep this Coug contained.
BYU is ranked No. 28 in total defense and continue to rise with every game. The Cougars have built a cement wall and attacked all those who may enter. BYU is not too far behind Washingtons total defense, who is currently at No. 17.
