BYU Women’s Cross-country makes history as they win the WCC title Saturday.
Men’s and women’s Cross-country competed at East Bay Golf Course, as this was the first year the championships were hosted in Provo.
The No. 9 women’s team came off a fourth-place finish in Pre-Nationals to fuel the fire to do better. The women have placed second the last three years, but this year, they had what it takes to be No. 1.
This is BYU’s first WCC title in four years. They won it with 27 points. Right behind them is No. 19 Portland with 41 points, San Francisco with 78 and Loyola Marymount with 115.
The women put six players in the top 10. But, Erica Birk-Jarvis took no. 1.
